Rafael Mesa, operations and maintenance manager at Arrudas WWTP (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), highlights the positive results obtained by the system DUMO Ultralyzer during the last year of operation at the plant.
The Spanish professional news portal Aguas Residuales (www.aguasresiduales.info), has published an interview with Rafael Mesa declaring that it has doubled the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of secondary sludge feeding the digester, increasing biogas production in comparison with the other plant digesters without this system.
Arrudas WWTP (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) is managed by COPASA and operated by Acciona Agua. It has a designed flow of 388,800 m3/d, with a biological treatment system of activated sludge. Those responsible for the WWTP, with the economic and population growth in the area, have managed to increase the efficiency of one of the digesters.
