Characteristics of the installation
The makers of the new drinking water reservoir of Palma del Río consumption needed to know and analyze population consumption trends. Therefore, Toscano Medioambiente technicians advised T500 range of flowmeters.
T500 flowmeters have no moving parts to wear out, and do not produce losses. For all these reasons are very stable, have a long operating life and are very accurate. Its wide range of diameters (15 to 500 mm, or even up to 1,200 mm on request), the various lining materials, and compact or remote versions, make this range of flowmeters suit many applications.
For this particular case were chosen two units of 200 mm in diameter, made of hard rubber, and local digital display of instantaneous and accumulated flow. Its backlit display is large, allowing for easy adjustments.
These two units measure input and output flows, so the difference is the total consumption. For convenience of the operators, data is transmitted via radio to the checkpoint, where they register and create trend graphs. Daily and seasonal consumption tops are known, thus adjusting the nearby water treatment plant planning.
Another advantage of using T500 flowmeters is that, thanks to its high accuracy and stability, it can easily detect faults and breaks in the network to occur, thus minimizing losses.
The operating principle of the range T500 is based on Faraday’s Law, whereby the voltage that moves across a magnetic field is proportional to the speed of the driver and the magnitude of magnetic field. This makes these flowmeters is not worn and therefore do not require maintenance or spare parts, with a corresponding savings.
